So, what is the role?

The person holding the role of Chef will lead by example and are competent in all areas of cooking and cleaning, maintaining a high level of Food Hygiene Standards & HACCP controls. They will take direct responsibility for the preparation and presentation of food consistent with food safety standards and Bright Brewery guidelines.

This role reports to the Head Chef and, in the absence of the Head Chef reports to the Sous Chef, whoever is rostered on shift. During a shift when the Head Chef and Sous Chef are not present, all kitchen staff report to the Venue Manager.

This role requires:

  • Flexibility with your position (i.e. help in other departments when required)
  • Flexibility with your roster
  • Providing a high level of customer service
  • Punctuality with a well-groomed appearance at all times
  • Dealing with customer questions and complaints where appropriate and in line with company policy
  • Becoming familiar with Bright Brewery, its services & events and being able to advise guests accordingly
  • Reporting all accidents and hazards in your work area and complete all paperwork as required
  • Other duties as directed

Hours

The Chef will be expected to work weekends and public holidays (as per conditions set out in individual contract), and evenings as required.

Uniform

You will be required to maintain a clean, neat & professional appearance at all times. It is your responsibility to supply your own uniform and knives.

The responsibilities

The key tasks that the Chef performs are:

Develop and bring to life Bright Brewery’s food service:

• Work with the Head Chef & Sous Chef to implement Bright Brewery’s food service guidelines

• Assist with the planning of exciting menus and specials in liaison with Head Chef & Sous Chef.

• Assist in coordinating preparation for any off-site catering functions with Head Chef & Sous Chef.

• Liaise with Head Chef on all matters relating to the business

• Clear communication with Head Chef and other managers and staff

• Ensure all communications between bar and kitchen run smoothly and with respect

Develop and implement Bright Brewery’s food safety program:

• Preparation and service of food-to-Food Hygiene Standards

• Ensure proper stock rotation in all food storage areas

• Maintain all work areas in accordance with Food Hygiene Standards

• Maintain a regular cleaning schedule for kitchens and storage areas

• Manage delivery and storage of goods (heavy lifting involved) within WorkSafe guidelines

Manage food service team:

• Ensure kitchen staff receive the right training and optimum guidance

• Assist in management of each staff member to maximize each person’s potential

• Kitchen supervision (assist staff in the role to learn):

• Managing stock intake

• Receiving goods

• Managing staff hours during breaks

Manage food service costs:

• Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the correct recipe and quantity

• Control and record all wastage and breakages

So, what is the role?

A Bright Ambassador is more than just a sales rep! It’s someone who can carry the torch for our town as well as our beers.

Your duties involve the development and maintenance of both existing and new accounts in the South and Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Working closely with our sales and marketing team you will be collectively working together to further spread and grow the name of Bright Brewery in Victoria. This role is ideal for someone passionate about people, place and of course beers!

Working Monday to Friday on a 38 hour contract with flexibility around starting and finishing time. Occasional after hours or weekend work may be required but are covered via our TOIL arrangement.

You will report directly to our National Business Development and Brand Manager.

The responsibilities

– Develop and support the wholesale of Bright Brewery beers to bottleshops, restaurants, bars and venues, and other retail and hospitality outlets across Victoria and allocated regional areas.

– Be an excellent Ambassador for our brands, values, and lifestyle

– Achieve budgeted sales targets and KPIs.

– Identify and capitalise on market opportunities to build sales and profitability

– Work under the direction of our National Sales Manager to support and grow accounts, as well as brand awareness and reputation

We’re Hiring: Casual Event Crew (North East Victoria)

Here at Bright Brewery, we are on the hunt to add to our local team with Casual Event Crew members to help with running events, festival work, tastings and bringing the Alpine’s best beer to the people.

WHO ARE WE

Bright Brewery is a family-owned and fiercely independent brewery, bar, restaurant and bike hub, located in the heart of Bright, Victoria, which has been established for over 15 years. During this time, we have built a reputation for high quality beer and great customer service, culminating in being inducted into the Victorian Tourism Hall of Fame in 2019, after being named Victoria’s Best Brewery three years in a row. We also collected a Champion’s Trophy at the 2019 Indie Beer Awards!

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking to add to our casual team of staff to work across events and in-store tastings along with festivals and activations.

This is a casual role where you will have the opportunity to work with one of Australia’s pioneering and most-respected craft breweries. This is a great entry-level role for someone interested in working in the craft beer industry or kicking starting their career in events.

You will work directly with our Sales and Marketing team to help spread the Bright Brewery beers and message across North East Victoria and surrounds.

We are looking for road crew members with a love for great beer and a passion for talking about it. Ideally, our candidates will have some experience in either hospitality or liquor retail, will have strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team. A passion for the mountains and an active lifestyle are also a plus!

· Managing and operating in-store tastings

We’re hiring: Victorian Sales Ambassador (Entry-Level)

Bright Brewery is on the hunt for an enthusiastic new sales ambassador to join our ever growing and vibrant team.

The purpose of this role is to provide sales and customer support services to existing and new customers within Melbourne and allocated Victorian regional areas resulting in sales growth and strengthened brand equity of Bright Brewery’s craft beer range.

This role is perfect for someone looking to break into craft beer sales or expand on their pre-existing sales career.

This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday with occasional after hours or weekend work. A company car or car allowance will be provided along with tools of the trade and professional training.

We’re hiring: Brewery Door Manager

We are on the hunt for a Brewery Door Manager to join our amazing team!

The Position

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Brewery Door Manager to lead our bar and front of house operations and team.

We require a team player who can help lead our Brewery Door staff and ensure customers always have a positive experience when visiting our venue.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager and Head Chef and will be responsible for ensuring product and service standards are met, maintaining procedures for maximising operating efficiency and cost-effective purchasing and control of beverage and retail stock.

This is a full-time position and will involve evening and weekend hours, as well as working across public holidays.

PURPOSE OF ROLE

The person holding the role of Brewery Door Supervisor is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive experience visiting Bright Brewery. 

REPORTING

This role reports to the Brewery Door Manager and Food/Beverage Manager. 

If neither manager are present, all bar staff report to the Brewery Door Supervisor (this role).   

KEY TASKS

The key tasks the Brewery Door Supervisor must perform are: 

Supervise Brewery Door Staff in providing friendly service to visitors to Bright Brewery 

Support the other brewery door staff in their duties by: 

  • Allocating and prioritising their tasks 
  • Supervising their breaks 
  • Encouraging them to work efficiently and with a strong service ethic 
  • Providing on the job training when required 

Support the Venue Manager in managing the venue’s budget 

  • Ensure staffing levels during each shift are appropriate – such as sending staff home in quiet times or calling more staff to help when busy
  • Ensure wastage is minimised
  • Ensure customer service is strong and sales opportunities are maximised 
  • Ensuring enough stock is on hand

Ensure a safe environment is maintained at all times 

  • Adhere to the principles of Responsible Service of Alcohol 
  • Report any Occupational Health and Safety risks to the Bar and/or Venue Manager
  • Ensure an incident report is completed for any accidents during the shift. Ensure all spills and breakages are cleaned-up promptly 

 Communication 

  • Communicate with the Bar and/or Venue Manager about brewery door matters such as staffing issues, training needs, new ideas, things to fix, shopping required. 

Supervision 

  • Often, the Brewery Door Supervisor will be the senior staff member on duty
  • Supervising other staff 
  • Opening or closing the Brewery Door (including cashing up and locking up) 

Ensure the Bright Brewery values are in action amongst Brewery Door staff. 

Ensure atmosphere of Bright Brewery meets requirements and that all staff understand and demonstrate the Bright Brewery values 

Perform the role of a Brewery Door staff member in addition to their other duties 

Take an active role in service, while supervising other brewery door staff.

THE POSITION

  • Full Time or Seasonal Contract available
  • Hours include days, night, weekends, and public holidays
  • Leave must be approved in advance and can’t be taken in peak periods (Easter, School Holidays, Long Weekends)

The Position

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager to lead our bar and front of house operations and team.

We require a team player who can help lead our Brewery Door staff and ensure customers always have a positive experience when visiting our venue.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager and Head Chef and will be responsible for ensuring product and service standards are met, maintaining procedures for maximising operating efficiency and cost-effective purchasing and control of beverage and retail stock.

This is a full-time position and will involve evening and weekend hours, as well as working across public holidays.
