The successful applicant will report to the Venue Manager and Assistant Venue Manager with shared responsibility across service delivery and guest experience.

We’re hiring: Assistant Venue Manager

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Venue Manager to lead our bar and front of house operations and team.

We require a team player who strong experience/ambition to build team culture, guest experience and revenue growth.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Venue Manager and Head Chef and will be responsible for ensuring product and service standards are met, maintaining procedures for maximising operating efficiency and cost-effective purchasing and control of beverage and retail stock.

This is a full-time position and will involve evening and weekend hours, as well as working across public holidays.

So, what is the role?

The person holding the role of Chef de Partie will lead by example and be competent in all areas of cooking and cleaning, maintaining a high level of Food Hygiene Standards & HACCP controls. They will take direct responsibility for the preparation and presentation of food consistent with food safety standards and Bright Brewery guidelines.

This role reports to the Head Chef and, in the absence of the Head Chef reports to the Sous Chef, whoever is rostered on shift. During a shift when the Head Chef and Sous Chef are not present, all kitchen staff report to the Venue Manager.

This role requires:

Flexibility with your position (i.e. help in other departments when required)

• Flexibility with your roster

• Providing a high level of customer service

• Punctuality with a well-groomed appearance at all times

• Dealing with customer questions and complaints where appropriate and in line with company policy

• Becoming familiar with Bright Brewery, its services & events and being able to advise guests accordingly

• Reporting all accidents and hazards in your work area and complete all paperwork as required

• Other duties as directed and an ability to work without direction or supervision.

Hours

The Chef will be expected to work weekends and public holidays (as per conditions set out in individual contract), and evenings as required.

Uniform

You will be required to maintain a clean, neat & professional appearance at all times. It is your responsibility to supply your own uniform and knives.

The responsibilities

The key tasks that the Chef performs are:

Develop and bring to life Bright Brewery’s food service:

• Work with the Head Chef & Sous Chef to implement Bright Brewery’s food service guidelines

• Assist with the planning of exciting menus and specials in liaison with Head Chef & Sous Chef.

• Assist in coordinating preparation for any off-site catering functions with Head Chef & Sous Chef.

• Liaise with Head Chef on all matters relating to the business

• Clear communication with Head Chef and other managers and staff

• Ensure all communications between bar and kitchen run smoothly and with respect

Develop and implement Bright Brewery’s food safety program:

• Preparation and service of food-to-Food Hygiene Standards

• Ensure proper stock rotation in all food storage areas

• Maintain all work areas in accordance with Food Hygiene Standards

• Maintain a regular cleaning schedule for kitchens and storage areas

• Manage delivery and storage of goods (heavy lifting involved) within WorkSafe guidelines

Manage food service team:

• Ensure kitchen staff receive the right training and optimum guidance

• Assist in management of each staff member to maximize each person’s potential

• Kitchen supervision (assist staff in the role to learn):

• Managing stock intake

• Receiving goods

• Managing staff hours during breaks

Manage food service costs:

• Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the correct recipe and quantity

• Control and record all wastage and breakages

• Understanding of Bright Brewery policies and implementation of same

So, what is the role?

A Bright Ambassador is more than just a sales rep! It’s someone who can carry the torch for our town as well as our beers.

Your duties involve the development and maintenance of both existing and new accounts in the South and Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Working closely with our sales and marketing team you will be collectively working together to further spread and grow the name of Bright Brewery in Victoria. This role is ideal for someone passionate about people, place and of course beers!

Working Monday to Friday on a 38 hour contract with flexibility around starting and finishing time. Occasional after hours or weekend work may be required but are covered via our TOIL arrangement.

You will report directly to our National Business Development and Brand Manager.

The responsibilities

– Develop and support the wholesale of Bright Brewery beers to bottleshops, restaurants, bars and venues, and other retail and hospitality outlets across Victoria and allocated regional areas.

– Be an excellent Ambassador for our brands, values, and lifestyle

– Achieve budgeted sales targets and KPIs.

– Identify and capitalise on market opportunities to build sales and profitability

– Work under the direction of our National Sales Manager to support and grow accounts, as well as brand awareness and reputation

– Relationship management, including prioritisation of key customers and new customer development

– Providing a superior level of service to our customers

– Deliver reports to National Sales Manager as required and requested.

– Utilise Bright Brewery CRM system as designated by Sales Manager

– Travel to, and manage, further sales areas as allocated by business

– Organise in-store tastings and promotions and point of sale displays

– Identify realistic opportunities to increase sales

– Activate or host events both on and off premise, including festivals

– Manage relationships and communication with sales accounts in line with role expectations

– Always uphold a high standard of professionalism with both colleagues and customers

– Flexibility with working hours, including readiness to work after hours in a sales capacity as well as on weekend events at events, festivals, and brand activations

– Follow direction from National Sales Manager in line with duties and work responsibilities

Who are you?

We are looking for a lover of all things people, hospitality and hopefully great beer! Our business is all about the people in it so we if you are a:

· A motivated solo operator who also loves being apart of a tight-knit team. Who can communicate with the best of them and doesn’t mind a bit of a soft sales pitch.

· Ideally someone who understands what it means to be on the other side of the counter. Experience and contacts in hospitality are big bonuses.

· You have a full driver’s licence and your own full-time vehicle .

· Someone who loves connecting with people over the joy of great drinks.

· Holds a Victorian RSA

· A pre-existing career in sales is even better.
