Our Local Producers

WINERIES

With our premium cooler climates and a rich history in European settlers from the gold mining era, vineyards are bountiful and local wines are unique.

If you are wine lover, the choice is endless.

Here are just a few of the local Cellar Doors we recommend a visit to:

Billy Button: A small-batch winery producing unique and expressive wines from Alpine Valleys grapes, including arneis, vermentino, and nebbiolo.

Ringer Reef: A lovely winery with stunning views and a range of award-winning wines, including chardonnay, pinot noir and shiraz.

DISTILLERIES

Our friends at Reed & Co Distillery are famous for their wide array of gins that specialise in using wild and native Australian botanicals in their home ‘remedies’. We, at Bright Brewery, are big fans of Hamish, Rachel and their team – their Remedy Gin is our house spirit here at the Brewery, and we always recommend gin lovers add this small local distillery on their list of must-dos.

LOCAL PRODUCE

The Alpine Valley is home to a diverse farming culture from beef, to nuts, to fruit – there can be fresh produce for every season in Bright. Support our homegrown Australian farmers by visiting their farms and gaining knowledge about where our food comes from.

Alpine Cider/Nightingale’s Alpine Produce: A cidery and produce store making delicious and refreshing apple and pear ciders using traditional methods and local fruit. This is also where you’ll find the best array of local produce, gift hampers, fresh bread and more!

AMAZING EATERIES

We love our community and all the creative businesses behind the faces of Bright. We are so lucky to have such a huge array of fantastic cafes, bars and restaurants and we love them all. But here a few hot insider tips from our staff:

Sixpence Coffee: Our local roastery serves delicious coffee and baked treats five days a week, with indoor and outdoor seating and a relaxed vibe.

Hometown Bright: A hugely-popular pizza restaurant and bar showcasing local produce in its modern Australian pizza menu, with a great range beers and wines.

Tomahawks: A funky eatery with a laid-back vibe, known for its gourmet burgers and creative sides, with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.

Ginger Baker: A charming cafe with mouth-watering breakfasts and lunches, open 6 days a week. If breakfast is the most important meal of the day, then brunch is the most important meal of the week. Ginger Baker treats it with the respect and deliciousness it deserves!

Empire Dining: A contemporary restaurant with a focus on seasonal produce and share plates, with an extensive wine list and a cool industrial-chic interior.

5 Acres: A popular garden cafe and restaurant in Wandiligong serving up hearty and delicious meals, with a focus on local and sustainable ingredients, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere and beautiful garden setting.
