Our Story
Bright Brewery was born in 2005 from a love of great beer, the vibrant town of Bright, and the adventurous spirit of Victoria’s High Country.
Founded by Scott Brandon, his late wife Fiona Reddaway, and friends David and Julia, the brewery began in two humble tin sheds. Since then, it’s grown into a thriving, environmentally conscious venue with seating for over 500, plus the stunning Hop Terrace and The Paddock — the best spot in town to enjoy a beer outdoors.
Today, Bright Brewery remains an independent, family-owned business, employing over 80 locals and staying true to our values: authentic, sustainable, active, and inclusive.
We brew right here in beautiful Bright with natural ingredients, pristine mountain water, and hops grown right in our valley — crafting beers that celebrate the outdoors and the community we love.
Remembering Fiona
Following Fiona’s passing in 2014, Bright Brewery’s proactive development and growth continues in her memory, pursuing her strong passion for robust planning. Fiona is remembered by a commemorative plaque and a portrait in the bar and in the name of our production brewery, Fred’s Shed.
In 2022, to celebrate International Women’s Day, we introduced Fred’s Blackberry Pale Ale — a beer crafted and brewed entirely by the women of Bright Brewery. What began as a tribute to her legacy has grown into an annual tradition, with approximately 80 female team members participating in Fred’s Brew Day since its inception.
