Bring it to Bright for an amazing festival of Spartan

26-27 November 2016

The final days of November are shaping up to be one of the most exciting we’ve ever had in the Spartan calendar. It’s going to be our first Trifecta weekend – all 3 of our races in just 2 days – but that’s not all.

As a total destination event, the Trifecta experience offers everyone – first time racers, Spartan devotees, elites, young and old, singles, couples, families and kids – the chance to experience the very best Bright has to offer.

Highlights of Bright

A gorgeous little jewel of a country town, Bright oozes relaxed old world charm and knock-your-socks off mountain vistas, complete with waterfalls and world-class running trails.

But if you’re worried you’ll be stuck in a time warp without a decent coffee, beer or meal in sight, think again. Bright is a happening gourmet haven, a playground for your tastebuds with wineries, breweries, pubs and more than a dozen excellent cafes to choose from.

The kids are going to have a great time working up an appetite, both on and off the Spartan course. Right in the heart of Bright you’ll find a water park complete with fountains and cannons, diving board and slide, built around the crystal clear waters of the Ovens River.

Biking is the number one activity in Bright, with both locals and visitors, so there are plenty of tracks and routes to enjoy on two wheels. Prefer roaming on two feet? Take to the trails and explore the rugged peaks, stunning lookouts, and swimming holes of the Alpine ranges.

Top festival features

Although we’ve chosen an amazing venue for our first Trifecta experience, we won’t be relying on the locals to provide all the fun.

Big plans are afoot for some very special Spartan events at Bright Brewery and Feathertop Winery during the weekend. But we’re also looking forward to hearing your ideas for celebrating your Trifecta slam dunk and relaxing before and after the race. So tell us what you’d like to see so we can roll out the red carpet, Spartan style.

The festival area at Bright will take the Spartan Race show to a whole new level. Our Bright basecamp will be pumping all weekend with a licensed bar, stalls from sponsors and local vendors and an obstacle training/practice area where you can warm up for your next race.

Kids can run amok through our inflatable obstacle course and bouncy castle. We’re planning to offer a kids’ club on Saturday and Sunday from 8 – 12pm so parents run the course while the mini-tribe scramble and play under close Spartan supervision.
