What began, as most great ideas do, as a yarn over a beer on cold and wintry day has now come full circle. Designed in collaboration with Carwyn Cellars, Le Monstres Du Chateau is a project showcasing the true expression of barrel aging through 6 different and distinct French barrels sourced 16,913km away from our home in Bright.

Release #3 Le Monstres Du Chateau #3 Madeira Barrel Aged Imperial Stout
Release #3 was aged in Madeira barrels which lent the distinctive flavour of this rare island wine to the beer. A chocolate plum aroma paves the way for a candied fruit and caramel flavour with a dark bitter chocolate finish that is smooth, rich and velvety.
Brewer Tasting Notes:  “Subtle smoke from charred oak, dark chocolate, fortified white wine/late harvest white, raisins”

Release #4: Le Monstres Du Chateau #4: Caribbean Rum Barrel Aged Imperial Stout
Release #4 is aged in Caribbean rum barrels, showcasing the classic Caribbean flavour of coconut with subtle tropical rum soaked fruit notes and sweetness. Much like the legendary Chupacabra who adorns release #4, we invite you to sink your fangs in and enjoy this showcase of barrel aging excellence.
Brewer Tasting Notes: “Tropical banana/fruits balanced with vanilla and coconut. More like milk chocolate smoothness than dark chocolate. Hints of rum spices.” 

Extremely limited quantities of both beers are available. Available only in 4-packs or mixed 8-packs (2 x 4-packs).
