The Position

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager to lead our bar and front of house operations and team.

We require a team player who can help lead our Brewery Door staff and ensure customers always have a positive experience when visiting our venue.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager and Head Chef and will be responsible for ensuring product and service standards are met, maintaining procedures for maximising operating efficiency and cost-effective purchasing and control of beverage and retail stock.

This is a full-time position and will involve evening and weekend hours, as well as working across public holidays.

Your Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership to the Brewery Door team

Set and monitor quality and service standards

Provide excellent and efficient customer service

Train junior staff and ensure smooth daily operations of the bar

Your Skills & Attributes

  • Prior experience in a high-volume hospitality environment
  • Experienced at leading a team
  • Demonstrated skills in high standards in customer service
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
  • Ability to effectively prioritise, delegate tasks and manage time
  • Set and monitor quality and service standards for staff and direct and manage staff members to meet standards and objectives
  • Proven stock control skills
  • Ability to maintain consistency of friendly and efficient service
  • Ability to develop and document operating systems and procedures and comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Mature attitude, honest, loyal and exceptional work ethic
  • Computer savvy (POS systems, E-mail, MS Word, MS Excel)
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate
  • A knowledge of, and passion for, craft beer and brewing are a bonus.

Positions Vacant: Casual Road Crew (Melbourne)

Here at Bright Brewery, we are on the hunt to add to our Melbourne team with Casual Road Crew members to help with running events, festival work, tastings and bringing the Alpine’s best beer to the people.

WHO ARE WE

Bright Brewery is a family-owned and fiercely independent brewery, bar, restaurant and bike hub, located in the heart of Bright, Victoria, which has been established for over 15 years. During this time, we have built a reputation for high quality beer and great customer service, culminating in being inducted into the Victorian Tourism Hall of Fame in 2019, after being named Victoria’s Best Brewery three years in a row. We also collected a Champion’s Trophy at the 2019 Indie Beer Awards!

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking to build a team to help our Melbourne crew across venue events and in-store tastings along with festivals and activations. This is a casual role where you will have the opportunity to work with one of Australia’s pioneering and most-respected craft breweries. This is a great entry-level role for someone interested in working in the craft beer industry or kicking starting their career in events.

You will work directly with our Sales and Marketing team to help spread the Bright Brewery beers and message across Melbourne and surrounds.

We are looking for road crew members with a love for great beer and a passion for talking about it. Ideally, our candidates will have some experience in either hospitality or liquor retail, will have strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team. A passion for the mountains and an active lifestyle are also a plus!

YOUR KEY TASKS

· Managing and operating in-store tastings planned with sales team.

· Working at venue events such as tap takeovers, launches or trade nights.

· Pouring and talking beers at festivals and trade shows.

· Assisting with both in-store and venue activations.

YOUR ROLE

This is a casual role with the possibility of future permanent hours for the right person. It will be Melbourne-based with regional work available for those interested/willing. Your remuneration will include the following:

· Casual award pay in conjunction with role operated and hours worked.

· Travel allowance for certain areas and duties.

· Superannuation in line with government regulations.

· Training and support.

· Bright Brewery merch and, of course, beers.

This role will require you to have a driver’s license, your own vehicle, and either hold a current RSA or be willing to get one before starting in this role.

Chef Position Description

We’re looking for leaders to help us create delicious food with a craft brewery twist in a very busy environment.

We require team players who loves working with the freshest local produce and who can bring a real creative flair to our cuisine.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Reporting to and working with the Head Chef and Sous Chef, the Chefs will help lead the Kitchen Team and are accountable for delivering great and unique food for Bright Brewery’s customers.

This rewarding role includes continually improving menu quality, food sourcing, storage, preparation, cooking and waste processing.

You will be competent in all areas of cooking and cleaning, maintaining high levels of Food Hygiene Standards and HACCP controls.

Skills and experience

  • Qualified Chef
  • Must have prior experience in a high-volume hospitality environment
  • Experience in menu planning and demonstrated skills in high standards of menu prep and delivery
  • Passion and imagination for food
  • Interest in local produce and beer matching
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems efficiently
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations relating to the hospitality industry
  • Proven leadership skills and lead by example
  • Mature attitude, honesty, loyalty and exceptional work ethic
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures

A knowledge of, or passion for, beer and brewing is an advantage.
