We’re hiring: Head Chef
We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to join our team.
Purpose of Role
The Head Chef is responsible for leading all back of house operations at Bright Brewery, delivering a high-quality, consistent and commercially effective food offering that reflects the brand’s standards and values. The role is accountable for kitchen performance across menu, systems, cost control and team leadership, while working closely with the Assistant Venue Manager to ensure alignment with overall venue operations.
The successful applicant will work report to the Venue Manager and works closely with the Assistant Venue Manager to ensure alignment between kitchen operations and front of house service.
The Role
This full time role is based at our Brewpub in Bright, VIC and offers a genuine work-life balance in a stunning alpine location. It includes work on weekends, evenings and public holidays.
The role involves:
-Leading a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment
-Maintaining consistent food quality during peak service periods
-Balancing creativity with strong commercial and cost control outcomes
-Managing and developing a diverse kitchen team
-Working closely with FOH leadership to ensure a seamless guest experience
-Being hands-on in both leadership and service execution

Skills required
Proven experience as a Head Chef or senior kitchen leader
Strong understanding of kitchen financials including COGS, labour and margin control
Experience in menu development and kitchen systems implementation
Ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams
Strong organisational, planning and communication skills
Ability to perform under pressure in a high-volume environment
Food Safety Supervisor certification (required)
