Rule 47 is the annual collaboration beer between the brewers of the High Country Brewery Trail in Victoria’s High Country to showcase the hops grown in our Alpine valleys and to celebrate the trails that connect us.

This year, 7 breweries were involved in the brew: Bright Brewery, Bridge Road Brewers, King River Brewing, Billson’s, Mitta Mitta, Black Dog and Crank Handle.

‘Rule 47‘ is the recurring name of the beer, which is a different style every year!

Rule 47 refers to Rule #47 in the Cycling Velominati. Rule 47 states (in part) that: “Cycling and beer are so intertwined that we may never understand the full relationship. Beer is a recovery drink, an elixir for post-ride trash talking and a just plain excellent thing to pour down the neck. Drink quality beer from real breweries. If it is brewed with rice instead of malted barley or requires a lime, you are off the path. Know your bittering units like you know your gear length. Life is short, don’t waste it on bad beer.”
