Is Darker Days going ahead this year?

Yes! Darker Days will take place from June 17-19, 2022

I bought a ticket in 2021 – can I still come?

Yes! Thank you for your support and for hanging on to your ticket. By sticking with us, you’ve guaranteed yourself early entry to the 2022 festival at a reduced price!

You will have now received an email (to the email address you bought your 2021 tickets under) from our booking partner Humanitix with NEW TICKETS for Darker Days 2022.

You MUST bring these new tickets to the event. Your old (TryBooking) tickets will not be valid.

Refunds are no longer available for 2021 ticketholders.

Can I volunteer?

Yes please! Head here and register, and we’ll give you a free Festival ticket

Should I bring paper or digital tickets to the event?

Either! A digital ticket on your phone is fine, as long as we can scan it. So save the earth and go paperless!

Is Darker Days child-friendly?

Children of all ages are welcome at Darker Days, and reduced ticket prices are available. All children must be accompanied by an adult and require a ticket. There will be some kids’ entertainment, such as face-painters, during the day. However, this is largely a beer and live music festival, and it is likely to be loud and crowded, with open fires, so parental discretion is advised.

Why do I need to pay for my child? They don’t drink beer!

Kids are welcome to attend Darker Days, however, we operate under a very strict capacity due to our limited space. So we require all festival-goers to have a ticket, regardless of age. Because, no matter the age of the child, they occupy a space within the capacity limit. We will have children’s entertainment and face-painting from opening time until late afternoon.

Can I bring my dog?

Sadly not. We LOVE doggos here at Bright Brewery, however, we don’t feel a live music festival with open fires and lots of people is the safest place for them.

Who is the headline artist?

Bob Evans – frontman of legendary rock outfit, Jebediah! The rest of the music lineup will be released in the coming weeks.

What does my festival ticket include?

10 hours of live music, a choice of more than 50 beers on tap, good vibes, local produce, and a branded, reusable festival cup.

Why are tickets more expensive than last year?

Good question! Two reasons:

  1. We have an epic music lineup – our biggest ever, in fact. And we have no doubt that the quality of the music alone is worth the ticket price (plus all the other festival goodies!)
  2. Our 2021 festival was shut down by COVID less than 24 hours before kick-off. That was a HUGE kick in the guts – both emotionally and financially. The artists were on their way, the marquees were up, the lights were on, the bills had been paid. We received no Government support in the wake our of Tier 2 Major Event being shut down. So, unfortunately, we have had to raise the ticket price slightly to help us offset costs this year.

What should I wear?

There’s no such thing as being cold and wet, only underprepared. So wear womething warm and waterproof! It is Winter in the Alpine, after all. Think rainjackets, puffer jackets, gumboots and a beanie!

Will the festival be cancelled if the weather is bad?

No! You have to have nerves of steel to run a midwinter festival in the mountains and we prepare for all kinds of weather. We have two huge marquees, and plenty of undercover space, so Darker Days will proceed – no matter the weather*.

*Pending some unforeseen natural disaster or weather event!

How do I pay for things?

With a credit or EFTPOS card, a smartphone or a smartwatch. Darker Days is a CASHLESS event*. Yes, we understand that cash is legal tender. But please understand our decision to keep things simple, quick and easy.

* Our guest food vendors may choose to accept cash at their discretion. Alcohol and ticket = card only.

What if I lose my wristband?

Once you show your ticket and enter the festival, your wristband is your proof of entry. You will need to show your wristband in order to be served. So if you lose your wristband, you will need to purchase another. Wristbands will not be replaced.

I don’t drink beer/alcohol – do I have to pay full price?

In short – yes. Your ticket price covers the whole event, including 10+ hours of live music and festivities. Non-alcoholic drinks will be available.

Can I leave the festival and come back again?

Sure – as long as you still have your wristband, you can come and go.

Can I BYO food and drinks?

No. We will have onsite vendors for both and we’d love you to support them.

Can I get food/drinks from the Brewery during the event?

No. The festival ground will be entirely separate from the Brewery.

Can I smoke at the festival?

Nope! No cigarettes, no vapes, no pipes, no e-cigarettes.

Is drinking water available?

Of course! Several bars will have water available, plus there’ll be a self-service water station.

What if I lose my festival cup?

There will be NO single-use cups at Darker Days. All drinks must be served in branded festival cups. If you lose your cup, you’ll need to buy another one at festival entry.
